This programme is collaboratively organised by the Education Bureau with The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong (IETHK). The Programme will match schools with engineers from different professional fields who will provide advice and activities on innovative engineering education covering diversified, interesting and meaningful themes, so as to facilitate primary and secondary school students to realise the connection between engineering and I&T and its application in daily life, broaden their understanding of the engineering field, and enhance their motivation and interest in STEAM learning.

Description:
In 2023/24 school year, QEF sponsored 11 tertiary institutions, secondary schools and primary schools to implement QTNs, covering different subjects and themes. The QTNs aim to provide support to the participating kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and enhance professional exchanges as well as professional capacity building to facilitate continuous development of schools. Among all, 4 QTNs themed on STEAM Education and STEAM Education Resource Hub will provide support and venue for schools in the same and/or different districts to share experiences and equipment related to STEAM Education. The resource hub will organise various workshops and teachers who are interested are welcomed to enroll in these workshops. |

This series of lectures is
co-organised by the Joseph Needham Foundation for Science and Civilisation
(JNFSC), the Education Bureau, the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences and the Hong
Kong Science Museum, with the aims to promote Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education, and to enable students and the public
to learn more about the recent development of some STEAM-related topics
(including sustainable agricultural technology, computer chips technology,
medical ultrasound technology, biomedical engineering, novel electric vehicle
technology, psychiatric related technology applications, novel passive cooling
technology), as well as to recognise the challenges and opportunities of
innovation and entrepreneurship in Hong Kong.

To strengthen public awareness of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), the PCPD has published a new Chinese book entitled “The Treasure-trove of Privacy – Understanding Your Personal Data Privacy”. The PCPD will host a book launch and seminar on cyberbullying and doxxing behaviour involving students at the Hong Kong Book Fair on 24 July.
