About 130 technology and science items in China and Hong Kong will be displayed in the hope of inspiring youths to enter the field. The foundation, founded by former chief executive Tung Chee-hwa in 2014, said it will divide the exhibition hall into three themed zones – Astronomy, Informatics and Oceanography.
Each zone will display both ancient and modern exhibits demonstrating China’s 5,000-year growth in innovation and technology.
Highlights include the world’s fastest super computer, Sunway TaihuLight, a model of the FAST Telescope which receives radio signals from a pulsar 1,351 light-years away from Earth with the size of 30 football fields, and the latest reduced-scale model of China’s aircraft carrier.
