CoolThink@JC Competition 2025

The CoolThink@JC Competition 2025 is open to all primary school students from Primary 4 to 6 in Hong Kong. The aim is to promote computational thinking education by introducing students to computational thinking concepts through coding and problem-solving, enhancing their computational thinking skills. Students can apply existing knowledge or tools to solve challenging problems, strengthen their logical thinking and programming skills, boost creativity and innovation, and cultivate collaborative spirit.

The competition is divided into Scratch and App Inventor categories and is open to students in Primary 4 to 6 during the 2024/25 academic year. Each team must consist of three students, and each school can send up to five teams to participate. Registration is based on school-level participation.

The competition is created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, co-created by The Education University of Hong Kong, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and City University of Hong Kong, co-organised by Association of Computational Thinking innoCommunity Teachers, and supported by Education Bureau, Hong Kong Education City, Association of I.T. Leaders in Education and The Hong Kong Association for Computer Education, and supported by Education Bureau and Hong Kong Education City.

After completing and submitting the Google Form, teachers will receive a copy of their responses. Once processed, a confirmation email will be sent, containing the Competition Guidelines, Parent Consent Form, Submission Form, and the Google Form for submitting project proposals. Teams may upload their project proposals (video or presentation), Submission Form, and Parent Consent Form via Google Form from now until 20th February 2025.

The registration deadline is February 20, 2025. We invite principals and teachers to actively form teams and participate!
