The Education Bureau is actively promoting STEAM education in primary and secondary schools, and has recently announced the “Enriched Module on Coding Education for Upper Primary Level” for Primary 4 to Primary 6 levels. This module is adapted from the teaching materials of the CoolThink@JC programme, to help schools implement programming education in a more systematic manner.
In school year 2024/25, the Education University of Hong Kong will provide free-of-charge professional development for teachers related to the “Enriched Module on Coding Education for Upper Primary Level” for all primary schools in Hong Kong through the CoolThink@JC programme. Details are as follows:
Event Name: CoolThink@JC – 2024/25 Professional Development for Teacher (Coding Education)
Venue: The Education University of Hong Kong Taipo Campus (Shuttle bus service available from University Station to the university campus, or on-campus parking available)
Programme Overview:
Courses cover Primary 4 (Scratch), Primary 5 (Scratch + micro:bit), and Primary 6 (App Inventor)
- Each course lasts for 12 hours, divided into two days (please refer to class schedule before registration. No class rescheduling will be provided)
- Schools can send a maximum of 2 teachers to enroll in each course
- Schools can send the same or different teachers to enroll in the Primary 4, Primary 5, and Primary 6 courses
