Due to inclement weather on 9 October 2023, “Innovative Engineering Education for Primary and Secondary Schools (2023/24)” launching ceremony cum “Engineers on Campus” dissemination seminar has been rescheduled to 1 November 2023 at Lecture Theatre, 4/F, West Block, EDB Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre, 19 Suffolk Road, Kowloon Tong

Description:

This programme is collaboratively organised by the Education Bureau with The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong (IETHK).  The Programme will match schools with engineers from different professional fields who will provide advice and activities on innovative engineering education covering diversified, interesting and meaningful themes, so as to facilitate primary and secondary school students to realise the connection between engineering and I&T and its application in daily life, broaden their understanding of the engineering field, and enhance their motivation and interest in STEAM learning.

Categories:

1. ‘Back To School’ / ‘Fly High Engineering’

Mode:

  • Match schools with engineers who will offer advice on engineering education and activities (e.g. seminars, sharing), and jointly plan STEAM education activities with teachers

Themes:

  • Environmental Technology and Engineering

  • Entertainment Engineering

2. ‘Engineering ASA’

Mode:

  • Arrange engineers and students to conduct field trips, seminars and workshops for students
