“Science World: Exploring Space to Benefit Mankind” Education Programme
Description:
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is launching a Project entitled “Science World: Exploring Space to Benefit Mankind” Education Programme in the 2021/22 school year for secondary students, which aims to cultivate the interest of local youth in space science and elevate their enthusiasm for participating in the development of space technology. The Programme consists of two activities:
Part One: Online Lecture Series
A series of 13 online lectures will be delivered by the professional academic staff of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from mid-October to mid-December 2021.

● Computer Software Challenges for Aerospace Missions (24 November 2021, Wednesday)
● Solar Vehicles for Space (27 November 2021, Saturday)
● Structural Health Diagnosis for Space Structure Using Acoustics Measurement System (30 November 2021, Tuesday)
● Introduction to Space Astronomy (4 December 2021, Saturday)
● Enabling Technologies for Experiments in Space (8 December 2021, Wednesday)
● Introduction to Hong Kong Radio Astronomy (11 December 2021, Saturday)

Part Two: Competition
Interested Secondary 3 to 5 students can further join a science experiment competition. Students are required to design scientific experiments by making use of microgravity in the space station to benefit mankind. The winning experiments may be modified by PolyU experts for trial inside (or outside) the China Space Station.
