Description:
CoolThink@JC Competition 2023 is the 7th as well as the last Competition held. It aims to promote Computational Thinking (“CT”) Education, enhance students’ awareness and interests on CT through coding and problem solving skills, enable students to apply their knowledge and skills on CT to solve problems, enhance creativity, innovation and coding techniques as well as encourage collaboration. The Competition includes Scratch and App Inventor categories, and targets all Primary Four to Primary Six students in the academic year of 2022/2023. CoolThink@JC Competition 2023 is created and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, co-created by The Education University of Hong Kong, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and City University of Hong Kong, and co-organised by Association of I.T. Leaders in Education and Hong Kong Association for Computer Education. It is supported by the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Education City. 


Registration for Competition:

The Grand Final and Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 15 July 2023 at The Education University of Hong Kong.

STEAM Education School Support Programme: “Engineers on Campus”

Description:

This programme is collaboratively organised by the Education Bureau with The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong (IETHK).  Matching of engineers from these two professional bodies with schools on a one-to-one basis will be arranged to provide school-based support and offer professional advice.  The aim of the programme is to forge the partnership between schools and engineers of various professional fields in co-designing different learning activities. Through the exchange with the professional engineers, students are enabled to learn the connection between engineering and innovation and technology, as well as the related applications in daily life.  In tandem, the programme can broaden students’ horizons in understanding engineering and enhance their motivation and interest in learning STEAM.

The engineers will provide support for specific themes in this programme and collaborate with teachers in organising various STEAM activities.
