Gifted Education Fund: Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes (2024/25 school year) now open for application

Education Bureau has always attached great importance to nurturing talent and actively promoting schools to develop and utilise school-based talent pool as a way to strengthen the identification and nurturing of gifted students. We encourage schools to nominate more of them to take part in off-school gifted programmes and competitions.

The Gifted Education Fund supports various orgainsations to provide “Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes (OSALPs)” for exceptionally gifted primary and secondary school students.  In the current school year, nine new programmes have been rolled out, covering such themes as STEAM (including quantum computing, artificial intelligence), humanities and social sciences, as well as entrepreneurship. These programmes enable exceptionally gifted students to acquire high-quality and challenging learning experiences in broader areas and even cross-disciplinary fields, further enhancing their abilities and achieving higher accomplishments.

To provide focused training for the exceptionally gifted students selected by Hong Kong Academy of Gifted Education (HKAGE) and to expand the talent pool of gifted students, we will continue to enhance the training for student members of HKAGE and provide them with more opportunities for advanced learning.  From the 2024/25 school year onwards, all OSALPs funded by the Gifted Education Fund will only be open to student members of HKAGE.

Applications are now open for Off-school Advanced Learning Programmes (2024/25 school year)! Schools can make good use of their school-based talent pools and nominate student members of HKAGE in schools for suitable programmes.

For student members of HKAGE to know more about the programmes or to apply for them, please visit:
