This programme is collaboratively organised by the Education Bureau with The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong (IETHK). Matching of engineers from these two professional bodies with schools on a one-to-one basis will be arranged to provide school-based support and offer professional advice. The aim of the programme is to forge the partnership between schools and engineers of various professional fields in co-designing different learning activities. Through the exchange with the professional engineers, students are enabled to learn the connection between engineering and innovation and technology, as well as the related applications in daily life. In tandem, the programme can broaden students’ horizons in understanding engineering and enhance their motivation and interest in learning STEAM.
The engineers will provide support for specific themes in this programme and collaborate with teachers in organising various STEAM activities.
This online briefing session aims at providing schools with details of the STEAM Education School Support Programme: “Engineers on Campus” and examples of STEAM education activities on different themes, including “Engineering for Daily Life”, “Engineering for Arts and Entertainments”, or “Engineering for Smarter Living”.
